Remortgage enquiries `rise in June`
11/08/2009
The number of people enquiring about remortgaging rose in June, new figures indicate.
Produced by Unbiased.co.uk, the statistics show that the number of people seeking advice on renewing their mortgage increased to a third of all consumer requests during the 30-day period.
It was also found that more of the people seeking to remortgage were looking for whole-of-market advice.
Chief executive of the organisation David Elms said: "These latest figures suggest a stirring amongst those thinking about remortgaging, after the previous two-month drop in remortgage enquiries."
He added that it is only whole-of-market mortgage advisors who are able to recommend solutions and products from across the range of mortgage providers.
Mr Elms went on to say that with mixed news of the state of the property market and mortgage deals changing at a fast pace, it is not surprising that people are seeking advice when selecting products.
This month, the Centre for Economics and Business Research predicted that house prices will increase by two per cent between the fourth quarter of 2009 and the same period next year.
