Weddings `causing honeymoon debt worries`

Many UK consumers are spending so much on their weddings that they have to consult professional debt advisers after the event, an industry expert has claimed.
According to wedding company Hitched, the average cost of a wedding in the UK now stands at nearly £18,000.
As a result, a number of those soon-to-be-married are now taking out wedding insurance and personal loans in order to cover the expense.
Francesca Moore, from the wedding company, stated that although brides and grooms save up for their big day, the excitement causes a large proportion to overspend.
She added: "The fact that we have become very materialistic when it comes to weddings means that a lot of saving and spending is involved."
