University students teach youngsters about debt
12/03/2009
Law students from the University of Exeter have visited a College to teach the youngsters about debt.
Youngsters in Year 10 at the Isca College of Media Arts were shown an overview of the credit crunch. The University students talked to them about the impact of debt and about the need to seek debt help if necessary.
They also went into subjects such as budgeting effectively.
"I thought the students gave an excellent presentation and the feedback has been positive too," said Jo Elliott, Head of Guidance and Drama.
There were workshops which gave the youngsters the chance to look at budgeting in more detail, helping them build the skills they`ll need when they have to make important financial decisions.
The Year 10 students were also encouraged to join in and make a short video on how to seek debt advice.
