The demand for debt advice is set to increase among British consumers in the New Year, according to one resource.
FinancialAdvice.co.uk suggests that many people are beginning 2009 with financial problems which have been exacerbated by festive spending.
It states: "This year more than any other year will see more and more of the UK population heading towards serious financial distress with debts rising and income levels under pressure."
The website also predicts that there will be a growth in Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) and bankruptcies over the course of the next few months.
